Were people really interested in the Royal wedding?
The Royal wedding was one of the most spoken topics for the last few months on the news, especially about Meghan’s very expensive wedding dress.
But did people really care about the Royal event?
We asked a 100 people about their opinion of the Royal Wedding on Saturday and we were shocked about the outcome.
61% of people said they ‘didn’t care’.
39% of people said they might go to see the event live.
Out of these 100 people asked these were the top 5 more peculiar answers we obtained:
“ It doesn't really affect our lives, why should we care ”
“ We want to support the breaking of English tradition when Prince Harry says ‘I DO’ to Meghan Markle “
“ Seeing Prince Harry’s transformation from party animal to a committed husband is a celebration worthy as it shows modern youngsters the way forward ”
“ This is just an event that all the marketing channels are using to get people involved really? No one cares if they are married public or secretly”
“ Only older generation still holds the value of the Royal Family. The younger generation properly doesn’t even know the names of all the royals or titles’.
What are some reasons for these answers?
Some of the most interesting reasons were found to be due to the lack of knowledge of what the Royal family represent, their activities for our country and responsibility in the UK's political decision-making process.
We found through our research that although many people claimed to not be interested- they still followed the news and recent topics of the headlines.
At Camelot, we understand that not many people know who we are, what we do or how we help shape the world of tomorrow just like the Royal family. But there is still so much more to educate people!
Let us know your thoughts! We are intrigued to know if you feel the same as one or two of these comments above.
