In 2001, Camelot was the first company in the UK to introduce protection by occupation: The 'Live-In Guardian Solution'.  Protecting properties through occupation prevents crime and the anti-social behaviour associated with vacant property.  Furthermore, housing Guardians prevents buildings falling into states of disrepair with Camelot carrying out reactive and preventative maintenance when required by the client. The Camelot solution is designed not only for residential property, but can be used to secure all types of commercial property too; if it is wind-proof and water tight Camelot can protect the property by occupation with carefully vetted Guardians.

Years of experience have taught us that the Live-in Guardiab solution requires a tailor made approach that considers:

• Expected duration: from a few months to several years
• Utilities: list of trend in fixed and variable costs
• Number of Guardians (minimum, strategic or optimum)
• Rooms to be used, which are safe and accessible and which are not
• Presence of a shower/kitchen in the property.
• Management of external areas, remote or in the centre of the town
• Other management and maintenance tasks to maintain the value during vacancy.
